Biography

Graduated from Zhongshan Medical University with a master's degree in 1999, Dr. Tang obtained a doctoral degree in surgery from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2005.  Subsequently, he went to Osaka University in Japan for further study from 2003-2004. Later, he finished his postdoctoral study at the Mayo Clinic in the United States from 2015-2017. Dr. Tang actively engaged in the clinical care of hepatobiliary, pancreas, spleen and general surgery for nearly 20 years in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He is highly specialized at liver, gallbladder, pancreatic tumor, biliary calculi, cystic dilatation of biliary tract, cirrhosis, portal hypertension and spleen diseases, laparoscopic surgery of biliary stones, choledocholithiasis and stone surgery, biliary and pancreatic diseases under ERCP. Dr. Tang has successfully carried out a number of complicated hepatobiliary and pancreatic spleen grade IV surgery and endoscopic and endoscopic surgery. He has published on nearly 50 SCI and Chinese core journals and participated in the editing of "Abdominal Surgery" (2000, People's Health Publishing House); "Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Splenic Surgery" (2012, Guangdong Science and Technology Press); "Points and Blind Spots: Biliary Surgery" (2010 People's Health Publishing Society) among others. Dr. Tang is member of the Chinese Medical Association, Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the Endoscopic Surgery Group of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of the Guangdong Medical Association, Department of Hepatology, Guangdong Provincial Society of Hepatology Member of the school group, professional committee of biliary and pancreatic diseases, member of the Pancreatic Surgery Branch of Guangdong Medical Association, and vice chairman of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Professional Committee of Shenzhen Medical Association.

Medical expertise: diagnosis and treatment of common diseases in general surgery including hepatobiliary, pancreatic and spleen diseases, proficient in open surgery, laparoscopic surgery and endoscopic ERCP operation.
