Dr. Chen is one of the top specialist and physician in the field of infectious diseases, such as Hepatitis, Liver Diseases, HIV and AIDS, Perinatal Transmission of HBV and its Interruption, and FUO with some 30 years of working experience in these fields. He worked for 20 years at Department of Infectious Diseases, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, Guangzhou, China (as Dean of the Department of Infectious Diseases for about ten years, Head of Department of Internal Medicine in Dong Pu Division for four years, Director of General Practice for two years, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University).He worked as visiting Scientist and/or Physician for six months at the Institute of Translational Immunology (TIM), University Medical Center, the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany (Prof. Detlef Schuppan), and at Department of Infectious Diseases/Center for HIV/AIDS, PUMC Hospital, Beijing, China (Prof. Taisheng Li), respectively. Dr. Chen had doctoral promotion at the Institute of Pharmacology/Center for Cardiovascular Research (CCR), Charité Medical School, Humboldt University of Berlin and Free University of Berlin, Germany (Prof. Berthold Hocher), and furthermore worked as a post-doctoral research fellow for one year at Biomedical Research Center, Charité Virchow, Humboldt University of Berlin (Prof. Petra C. Arck). He made clinical training as a guest doctor for one year at Department of Infectious Diseases and Gastroenterology, Center for HIV & AIDS, Vivantes-Auguste-Viktoria Clinic, Berlin, Germany (Priv.-Doz. Keikawus Arastéh and Prof. Manfred L'age). Dr. Chen took an intensive course and medical training of General Practice at University of Birmingham, England in June 2016.
Dr. Chen is acknowledged for his excellent work and contributions in clinical care, research and education. He is entitled to plenty of awards, including Excellent Doctor of Yang Cheng City, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, Famous Doctor of Lingnan, China, First Prize Award for Excellent Scientific Research Work of Liang Zhongjing Foundation, Jinan University, China. Dr. Chen is vice president of Infectious Diseases Committee of Guangdong Medical Association, vice president of Contagious Diseases Management Committee of Hospitals Association in Guangdong Province, vice president of Infectious Diseases Committee of Guangdong Medical Education Association, and vice president of Liver Diseases Committee of integrated TCM and Western Medicine Association in Guangdong Province. He is one member of the third National Collaboration Research Group in Liver Diseases, China. He is a peer reviewer of SCI and Chinese Journals, such as J DOHaD, J Reprod Immunol, Journal of Southern Medical University, and so on.
He has published more than 100 articles, reviews, and case reports, including 29 SCI papers published in PNAS, Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews, Journal of Hypertension and so on. He is a co-writer/editor of four chapters and sections(Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD), Human streptococcus suis （S. suis） infection, Hydatid disease (echinococcosis) and Linguatulosis) of the Book Tropical Diseases (the first and second Edition), People’s Medical Publishing House, Beijing.
