Biography

Dr. Huang was recruited by Sun Yat-sen University through 'Hundred-talent program'. He used to work as a senior research associate at the National Institute of Children Health and Human Development, NIH, USA. Dr. Huang gained his master degree from New York University, USA. Afterwards, he obtained his PhD degree from Weil Cornell Medical College, Cornell University under the supervision of Prof. Katherine Hajjar, associate dean of Weill Cornell Medical College and chairman of the department of cell and developmental biology. After that, Dr. Huang continued his postdoctoral training in Yale University under the supervision of Prof. William Sessa, vice-chairman of the department of pharmacology and director of Research Center for Vascular Biology and Therapeutics.

Dr. Huang published more than ten research papers on high impact academic journals such as Science, Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Blood, etc. Additionally, He is invited as the reviewer for many academic journals, such as Cancer Immunology Immunotherapy, JCI insight, Oncotarget, Tumor Biology, Journal of Surgical Oncology and Chinese Journal of Cancer.

Dr. Huang joined the program in Immunology, the Scientific Research Center, the Seventh Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University in 2018. The main research interests of his group focus on:

  1. Regulation of B cell development and maturation
  2. Cancer stem cell biology and Immunology
  3. Involvement of immune cells in the pathogenesis of autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases
