长期从事骨科基础与临床、骨科生物材料的相关研究工作。2016-2018年在瑞士AO国际骨科内固定研究院从事骨科基础研究2年。作为课题负责人主持包括国家自然科学基金面上项目等骨科退变性疾病、骨修复材料相关课题14项,作为子课题负责人参与国家重点研发计划1项,作为主要研究人员参与了973课题、国家自然科学基金重点项目等骨科基础研究相关课题5项。在上述研究工作积累下,在中山大学附属第七医院建立了完善的动态力学培养系统、类器官骨修复材料制备平台、单细胞测序与分析平台;探索了应激与稳态维持相关基因调控骨形成的基因表达及其表观遗传学变化规律;提出以功能为导向的类器官骨修复材料的构建,并在此过程中发现动态力学能调节其免疫微环境。发表论文近54篇,SCI收录43篇,第一作者或通讯作者27篇。
