On the morning of September 14, a delegation of 15 hospital administrative official members from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (“SYSU Third Hospital”), led by Vice President Yang Qintai and Vice President Ren Jie, visited our hospital. SAH-SYSU’s Secretary Chen Qikun, Vice President Chen Chun, Chief Accountant Chen Cailiu, Director Wang Jihua, and Director Ma Lin participated in the discussion. Both parties engaged in extensive exchanges on hospital management, talent development, academic construction, and the construction of the International Medical Center.

 

During the meeting, Vice President Yang Qintai introduced the development model of SYSU Third Hospital, which is based on the construction of three major advantageous disciplines: Hepatology, encephalopathy, and immunological diseases. He highlighted support platforms such as stem cell (cellular) therapy, big data, AI, and nanomedicine, and a 5G-enabled multi-campus operation model, under the development framework of “one body, two wings, three cities and four hospitals”. He expressed hopes for future exchanges, support, and cooperation with our hospital in various aspects.

Ma Lin, Director of SAH-SYSU’s International Medical Center (“IMC”) and Reproductive Medicine Center, discussed the development process of the IMC from five aspects: The current state of domestic and international medical development, policy support related to the IMC, the hospital support system, the current stage of the IMC’s development, and future prospects. He expressed the hope to establish a high-quality medical service system matching Guangming Science City to provide comprehensive health security for this international hub.

Both parties deeply exchanged views on the construction and management mechanisms of the IMC, strengthening specialty discipline construction, and overall hospital development. They reached a consensus on deepening medical-education collaboration, highlighting disciplinary specialties, integrating advantageous resources, sharing cooperation, and leveraging quality resources of both parties. In doing so, the two parties aim to combine their practical needs in the medical and health fields to promote in-depth cooperation, achieving a synergistic result, signifying a perfect and mutually beneficial collaboration between the two institutions.

After the meeting, the delegation from SYSU Third Hospital, accompanied by SAH-SYSU leaders and department heads, toured IMC. This visit focused on the construction of IMC as an opportunity to strengthen cooperative awareness, deepen exchanges, and jointly promote the rapid development of the hospitals, assisting each other towards a path of high-quality development.
