Visiting America for High-level Talent Recruitment Seminar in the spring of 2018

Vice President Pan Yihang went to the United States and conducted a seminar on behalf of the Seventh Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University while being in its pre-opening preparation. This seminar was aiming at launching the brand of the hospital and establishing a great international image. This event also prompted to visit American research institutions for reaching cooperation and exchange of scientific research, clinical training and hospital management. Meanwhile, it is given opportunities for the hospital to attract more international talents to join in for further scientific research and clinical practice.

On April 27th, Vice President of the Hospital Pan Yihang participated in the campus talk of Sun Yat-sen University in Chicago which was led by Wang Xuehua who is Vice President of the University. At the meeting, Vice President Pan gave a detailed introduction to the situation of our hospital: as the first affiliated hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Shenzhen, the hospital keeps adhering to the teaching of the university and embedding in Shenzhen to build a comprehensive, integrated and influential hospital. The hospital therefore adopts a model that the management of the clinical practice and scientific research are relatively independent thereby better supports the development of scientific research. Furthermore, the hospital’s development orientation, management philosophy carried out by Pan’s speech attracted students and scholars from many universities in Chicago and surrounding areas. After the meeting, Vice President Pan proceeded to the Northwestern University School of Medicine and the University of Chicago Medical School, discussing with Chinese scholars for future exchange and cooperation.

Subsequently, Vice President Pan arrived in New York and visited Cornell University School of Medicine, Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hospital for Special Surgery during Labour Day. These institutions are all located in the Upper East of New York and mutually integrated into medical, teaching and research domains. Therefore, the alliance consisted of these four has a reputation for the most significant medical association in the medical field. Two days later, Vice President Pan held an independent seminar on behalf of the Seventh Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-Sen University at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This event attracted dozens of scholars from universities in New York who were interested in returning to China. Through this event, our hospital’s management philosophy especially the emphasis on promoting scientific research received great appreciation. All of the participants showed a high willingness of seeking cooperation including employment opportunities and academic exchanges.
