INFECTIOUS DISEASE

Department of Infectious Diseases of the Seventh Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University was led by Prof. Dr. You-Peng Chen,deputy director of the department.

Our team is focused on diagnosis and treatment for Viral and Autoimmune Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, Influenza and other infectious diseases, FUO (Fever with Unknown Origins), Sepsis and Bacterial Infection, Dengue Fever, Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS), Scrub Fever, HIV/AIDS, Fatty Liver, Metabolic Liver Diseases, Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases. We are highly focused on management of Liver illness and Viral Diseases in Women of Child-bearing Age, and interruption of Mother to Child Transmission (MTCT) of HBV and/or HCV. Our team possesses considerable experience of Antibiotics use in all kinds of infective patients, e.g. sepsis. Conditions like Hepatic Nodules and/or Liver Tumors will be treated with the cutting edge diagnostic tests and best-combined therapies.

Labs for Cell Immunity and Immune Therapy will be established as planned where the most advanced medical technique/intervention and newly approved drugs for diagnosis and treatment come into being. The team has fostered clinical and scientific partnership with research institutions both locally and internationally, like Sun Yat-sen University in China, University of Heidelberg, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Heinrich Pette Institute (HPI) and Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology in Germany (Prof. Berthold Hocher, Prof. Petra C. Arck, and Prof. Gülsah Gabriel).
